ProSciento Assembles Team of 92 and Raises More Than $27,000 for American Diabetes Association’s Tour de Cure in San Diego

SAN DIEGO, April 5, 2016 – ProSciento, clinical research organization (CRO) focused on diabetes, obesity and NAFLD/NASH, announced today its 12th year as a corporate sponsor of the American Diabetes Association’s (ADA) Tour de Cure and a team of 92 participants fundraising for this event as members of the ProSciento Peddlers Team.

The ProSciento Peddler Team raised more than $27,000 for this year’s Tour de Cure.  ProSciento Peddlers are easy to recognize at the event with their signature blue jerseys. Although many ProSciento Peddlers are employees of ProSciento, it is not a requirement to be on the team. Any one is welcome to join – whether they are new to cycling, a highly experienced cyclist, or not a cyclist at all, but wishing to fundraise to support the cause.

“This year represents our largest team ever with a record 92 registered ProSciento Peddlers. Many of those individuals are cyclists participating in the Tour this weekend. Other ProSciento Peddler team members may not even own a bike, but are fundraising and supporting their fellow teammates. The common thread among all ProSciento Peddlers is the passion to make a difference in their community and in the lives of people affected by diabetes,” said Kristin Stanley, ProSciento Peddler Team Captain and employee of ProSciento Institute.

2016 marks ProSciento’s 12th year as a corporate sponsor of the ADA’s Tour de Cure and organizer of the ProSciento Peddler Team.  ProSciento also supports and organizes teams for a number of other events, including JDRF’s Walk to Cure Diabetes and ADA’s Step Out Walk to Stop Diabetes, both of which take place in the fall each year.

“The enthusiasm and fundraising success of the ProSciento Peddler Team is truly inspirational. I’m proud to stand among the ProSciento Peddler teammates in support of this outstanding event benefiting the American Diabetes Association and the very people for whom our clinical research will hopefully make a significant impact,” said Dr. Marcus Hompesch, ProSciento CEO and a ProSciento Peddler.

The Tour de Cure will take place this Saturday, April 9 beginning at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. The Tour de Cure is a series of fundraising cycling events held in 44 states nationwide to support the mission of the ADA to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by the disease.
