SAN DIEGO, April 15, 2015 – ProSciento, Inc., an early engagement clinical research organization (CRO) focused on diabetes, obesity and NAFLD/NASH, announced today its 11th year as a corporate sponsor of the American Diabetes Association’s (ADA) Tour de Cure and a team of 70 participants fundraising for this event as members of the ProSciento Peddlers Team.
The ProSciento Peddler team has raised $35,000 for this year’s Tour de Cure, an increase of more than 50% over the team’s original goal, and that amount is likely to increase before the event this weekend. The team consists of people who have a passion to make a difference in their community and in the lives of people affected by diabetes. Many team members are affected by diabetes themselves or supporting others with diabetes.
“The team’s enthusiasm for fundraising and ProSciento’s support of its team members is extraordinary. Nearly every day someone is hosting a fundraising effort. Fellow ProSciento Peddler teammates and ProSciento employees support those events as if they were immediate family. It’s truly inspiring what a group of individuals can accomplish when supporting an important altruistic cause,” said Kristin Stanley, ProSciento Peddler Team Captain and employee of ProSciento.
This year marks ProSciento’s 11th year as a corporate sponsor of the ADA’s Tour de Cure and organizer of the ProSciento Peddler Team. ProSciento also supports and organizes teams for a number of other events, including JDRF’s Walk to Cure Diabetes and ADA’s Step Out Walk to Stop Diabetes, both of which take place in the fall each year.
“ProSciento is an ardent supporter of the American Diabetes Association and other advocacy groups with a similar mission of advancing research to eradicate diabetes and improving the lives of people with this and related metabolic disorders,” said Marcus Hompesch, ProSciento’s CEO and a ProSciento Peddler. “This year in particular I am so proud to stand among the ProSciento Peddler participants and supporters and the truly impactful and meaningful difference we are making in our community in support of the ADA.”
This year’s Tour de Cure will take place this Saturday, April 18 beginning at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. The Tour de Cure is a series of fundraising cycling events held in 44 states nationwide to support the mission of the ADA to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by the disease.
